Photo Essay: Brazil World Cup 2014

Fifa World Cup in Brazil 2014 had a terrifying ending for Brazil but also an amazing beginning. Through my journey of watching the Brazil team crush through teams and face vicious rivals, I am proud to say I did not miss one game for Brazil! So I invite you to look at the journey I had and Brazil had through this World Cup against Croatia, Mexico, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Germany and Netherlands.

Even though Marcelo starts off with an own goal Neymar and Oscar makes it 3-1

The very first game of the world cup with crowds of Brazilians and Croatians roaring from the seats and Brazil players belting out the national anthem and some sobbing loudly. The shiny, smooth new Brazuca ball is unfamiliar to Marcelo as he shoots an embarrassing own goal. But, Brazil catches up with Neymar scoring two and Oscar one.

Ochoa blocks out everything, and the game ends 0-0

That game was very bad luck for Brazil and a miracle for Mexico as a mountain called Ochoa punched out all the goals attempted by Brazilians. The crowds were shocked and heaves of sighs and salty tears were seen on the Brazil fans' shocked faces.

Neymar shows that with no doubt he is the best

Neymar proved he is the best in the world by scoring two goals, leaving Cameroon with fearful looks on their faces and rough goosebumps on their arms. Brazil fans cried with joy this time, the air full of excitement. The crowd cheered even louder  as Fred and Fernandinho made the game a crazy 4-1

It is a dangerous game but ends 3-2 for Brazil

Brazil had a really dangerous match in this game. There were burning hot swear sizzling down both team's necks and the crowd was loud two times when one goal was scored by David Luiz and the other from Chilean Sanchez. Because of the tie they went to penalties and in a blur of motions and balls stretching out the net, Brazil took the victory 3-2 on penalties.

Luiz makes the world applause for Colombian James Rodriguez

This was the day the whole entire nation lost their hopes. The match was good - Luiz was almost part of the ball and scored one, and the captain scored another. The crowd screamed happily and players had ready grins on their faces. But then in the very end jealousy lead a Colombian defender (Zuniga) to break Neymar's third vertabrae with a crunch of a knee hitting a vulnerable back, which ended Brazil's hopes of winning for the sixth time.

Even though Oscar scores one, Muller, Klose, Kroos twice, Khedira, and Schurrle twice amount of goals crushed Brazil 7-1

It started with all Brazilians mourning for Neymar's absence. Luiz and Julio Caesar held up Neymar's jersey, and cried out the national anthem. The ball looked hollow,l the people's eyes were puffy, and the crowd weren't so loud. The end of Brazil's World Cup was nearing. In just 30 minutes, countless goals were netted by the Germans. They were helpless without their number 10. The air was thick and soggy, and Brazil was silent for the whole week. No restaurants or shops opened, the streets were dead.

Brazil cannot concentrate on the game and loses 3-0 making 4th place

Even their last hope was crushed as in the third place game, Robin Van Persie shot an amazing goal from the penalty spot that made the last Brazilian fans whimper out sobs and cries. Brazil's manager looked hopeless and scared, and their hard working, yet unsuccessful smell of sweat ended the world cup for Brazil.

The silence in the streets of normally loud Brazil still continues today in some streets. If only Neymar hadn't gotten injured. That would have made allthe difference. But now it has all ended, Brazil has ended up 4th place, their journey came to a stop. My journey through these events were just the same as the Brazil's fans. I sobbed when Germany crushed them, cheered when they beat Cameroon. This was my journey of Brazil 2014.

Movie Review: Mao's Last Dancer

I think that the movie Mao's Last Dancer was a very interesting True Story/Romance movie, set in three different places, which were a rural city in China, Beijing and Texas. The movie was a bout a Chinese person called Li who lives in a rural area in China as a child, then gets picked to become a military dancer, and then later gets chosen again to go to summer school in Texas.

After being in the states, Li decides he really likes Texas. He lives with a person called Ben and meets Elizabeth, Lori, Mary, etc. Li does so much better than he did in China, and he decides to stay in the USA but the Chinese government wants him to return to his home country. Li quickly solves this problem without thinking it through and marries a girl he met not long ago to be able to stay in the states. Then he is forbidden to return to China ever again.l I think that was a really bad decision made by Li, even though it was very complicated. He chose dance over family through a process that was not very smart. I think that he should have kept on trying to persuade the government until they would allow him to stay.

In the movie, there is a story of a frog in a well. I thought that had a really deep meaning. It was about how a frog lived in a well and he thought the well was the only world there was but another frog came along from outside and told him to come out and see the rest of the world. I thought it meant the world you know is not the only world that exists, and somewhere else unfamiliar people are doing different things and you should respect that and learn things and try new things.

There was also a person in the movie who was Li's teacher, and he inspired him to do ballet. The person in my life that really inspires me is my mother. She has taught me so many life skills and I want to tell others about her wonderful ideas. My mother has inspired me to do, start and try so many new things. Also my father really inspires me too. He works all day and comes back usually when I'm sleeping, and I really appreciate that he works all day for his family which I'm part of and I want to be a good person like him when I grow up.

In conclusion, this movie was pretty good and I would give it a 3 out of 5 with 1 being "never watching again never even mentioning again" and 5 being "I could watch this all day long". The 3 means "Not bad, but not great either". Overall this movie was a very interesting movie. But overall I thought it was very intriguing to watch a person's childhood to who the person is now as an adult.  I never thought that it would be so interesting to watch just one person's life and how it changes as time passes.

Three Things I Know to be True

Welcome to my blog! My name is Stephanie, I'm twelve years old, and I live in Hong Kong. I moved to Hong Kong when I was in the second grade so I don't really remember about living anywhere else. Now that I'm done talking about the basic stuff I would like to talk to you about three words that have a connection to me, and they are Tai Tam, Moth and 2.

Tai Tam
Moth
Two

So that's it about my three words/stories. I wish that you'd understand why I'm used to mountain life, why I slowly jump around and get dizzy whenever I see moths. I hope you enjoyed reading my introduction and feel free to comment on any of my posts if you want! Thank You.
